Tuesday October 2, 2018 - Nairobi Governor, Mike Sonko’s wife, Primrose Sonko, offered temporary shelter to a Kibera family which has been living in an abandoned car for two years.

The story was highlighted on KTN on Monday and by Tuesday, the Nairobi County First Lady intervened and gave the family temporary shelter at her home in Runda, Nairobi.

The First Lady also promised to assist the family to take their children to school and pay their school fees.

The First Lady has offered to provide a temporary shelter for the father of two who is currently living inside an abandoned car in Makina,” Mike Sonko said.

The man, Ishmael Abdalla Khamis, and his two sons, Talib and Said Ishmael, have been living in the car after his water business came crumbling in 2013 shortly after, his wife left him and abandoned their kids.

See this comment by a resident of Nairobi after Primose Sonko did an act of God.

Hon Mike Sonko will always be my no. 1 inspiration. His attitude towards poor people in society is unbelievable. God created us to love one another and to help each other in times of pain and suffering, and that's what this gentleman does. He has helped dozens of unfortunate people in the society ranging from orphans, adopted children, disabled children, the homeless, the sick, the list is endless. I pray every day for our country Kenya to give birth to such nice and hospitable politicians like the Hon. Mike Sonko. God will always bless you wherever you go and we are here to show all the support you need in your tenure as the Governor of Nairobi," he said.
