JACQUE MARIBE recounts how her fiancé Joseph Irungu was ‘shot’ as she tries to plead her innocence in Monica Kimani murder.

Tuesday, October 16, 2018- Citizen TV news anchor, Jacque Maribe and her fiance Joseph Irungu alias Jowie are in custody for the murder of business lady Monica Kimani on the night on September 19 at her apartment in Kilimani.

The two love birds turned jail birds both pleaded not guilty on Monday but are still locked up waiting their bail application on Wednesday.

Maribe has disclosed fresh details about her fiance Jowie sustained the wound shot on his lower left shoulder which has added a new twist in the murder case.

The once celebrated journalist had initially backed up Irungu's claims that he was shot outside their house in Langata by unknown men as she dropped the TV girl.

She has now changed tune and revealed that Jowie shot himself in her house recanting her previous claims that Jowie, who is the main suspect in the murder case, had been shot by a three men on a motorbike.

A section of her new statement reads:He then went to the walk -in closet. I heard what sounded like a gunshot. I jumped out of bed out of bed and went to the closet, and he was lying on the floor. He had blood on his upper left chest area.

“He was repeatedly saying; I love you, I am sorry” I panicked and ran back into my bedroom for my phone.  When I returned back to the closet area he was not there.

“I saw through the window that he had gone to our neighbour Mr Bryan Kassaine. I ran out and found Joseph Kuria Irungu lying down. Bryan Kassaine had come outside. Bryan’s wife Cate also ran outside to where Joseph was lying.  He was still bleeding from the chest”

She however maintained that her activities and movements of the night the Monica Kimani was killed remain the same as per the statement she had recorded on September 28 at the DCI headquarters.

"I wish to state that my activities and movements on the 19th day of September 2018 remain the same as i had outlined in my previous statement"

A third suspect in the case, Mr. Brian Kassaine, who is the owner the owner of the gun Jowie used to shoot himself and Maribe's nieghbour, was freed by the court last week after he reportedly agreed to become state witness in a bargain plea.
