Tuesday October 9, 2018 - Citizen TV presenter, Jackie Maribe, and her lover, Joseph Irungu, have today appeared in court over the murder of Monica Kimani

On Tuesday morning, Director of Public Prosecutions, Noordin Haji, recommended the prosecution of the two over the gruesome murder of Monica Kimani

The two were arraigned in Court on Tuesday and Maribe was overwhelmed by emotions and could be spotted shedding tears.

The moment when her mother hugged her and consoled her, Maribe’s eyes were watery, heavy with tears!

Maribe sat next to her lover, Jowie, but they rarely spoke.

As the cameras zoomed in on the two, Jowie was seen relaxed as Maribe wore a puffy face.

Interestingly, Maribe’s parents never even greeted their daughter’s lover, Jowie, despite him and Maribe being next to each other at the defendants’ stand.

Justice Jessie Lessit remanded Maribe at Langata Women’s Prison and Jowie to Industrial Area Remand.

Their case will be heard on 15th October, 2018.
