Monday, October 15, 2018- Disgraced Citizen TV news anchor Jacque Maribe and her fiancé Joe Irungu alias ‘Jowie’ have denied murdering business lady Monica Nyawira Kimani.
The two love birds turned murder suspects will spend two more nights in custody after high Court judge Jessy Lesiit directed that bail application to be heard on Wednesday, October 17.
The once high flying TV journalist had requested, via her lawyer, Katwa Kigen, the court to fast track the mention since they suspects had been in custody for long.
Maribe was arrested on September 29 five days after her fiancé Jowi, who is the chief suspect, was arrested.
A third suspect in the case, Mr. Brian Kassaine, was freed by the court last week after he reportedly agreed to become state witness in a bargain plea.
The late Monica Nyawira Kimani was murdered in cold blood on the night of September 19, hours after landing in Nairobi from South Sudan where she runs a business.
Her body was found in a bathtub with her throat slit. She had also been raped.
