Blow to former PS LILLIAN OMOLLO as court refuses to let her off the hook after stealing billions from NYS with ANN NGIRITA - She will rot in jail

Thursday October 4, 2018 - Former Youth Affairs Principal Secretary, Lillian Omollo, has been dealt a severe blow after the High Court declined to quash fraud charges against her.

In his ruling, Justice John Onyiego said that the fact that the charge is defective does not raise a Constitutional issue.

“I am satisfied that the petitioner is not merited and the orders sought are not applicable and hence dismissed with no order as to cost,’’ said justice Onyiego.

Omollo’s defence team had argued that the charges presented before the court against her were unconstitutional and stood to violate her rights as an accused person.

Led by lawyer Stephen Ligunyan, the defence team submitted that the charges as framed were devoid of any legal basis and were a sham.

Omollo is accused of several counts of corruption, including defrauding the NYS of billions of shilling when she was the PS.
