ALADWA says he wants a referendum to make UHURU Kenya’s Prime Minister & RAILA ODINGA the President in 2022 elections

Monday October 29, 2018 - Makadara MP, George Aladwa, has said the country needs a referendum to expand the executive arm of Government.

Speaking on Radio Jambo’s ‘Mazungumzo Wazi Wazi’ on Saturday, the parliamentarian based his argument on President Uhuru Kenyatta’s youthfulness maintaining that he must be retained after his retirement in 2022.

“Rais Uhuru ako na miaka 57 na atakapotoka atakuwa na 61, sioni makosa akitafutiwa nafasi nyingine serikalini”

“(he will be only 61 in 2022, let’s retain him in Government),” Aladwa who is a close ally of NASA leader, Raila Odinga, said.

This becomes his second time to make a similar proposal, the first one being during the Uhuru Market cleanup in Nairobi on October 6th in the presence of the Head of State.

Aladwa further defended his sudden support for Uhuru, including his leadership and anti-graft move, even after placing himself among his worst critics until early this year.

“Raila waliposalimiana na Rais nami nikaingia serikalini. Mimi namuunga mkono Rais kwa sababu ya Kiongozi wangu Raila”

“(I crossed over the moment they reconciled. I support Uhuru because of Raila),’’ he said.
