The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Nordin Haji and his Directorate of
Criminal Investigations (DCI) counterpart, George Kinoti, are in Germany
visiting a forensic laboratory that will help them with the necessary
investigative knowledge on how to nail criminals in the country.
Since independence, Kenya
has been struggling to collect evidence and nail suspects but since the
appointment of Haji and Kinoti, the country seems to be headed in the right
direction.
On Tuesday, Kinoti and
Haji went on a benchmarking tour of the BKA Forensic Laboratory in
Germany.
BKA is Germany's National
Central Bureau of the International Criminal Police Organisation better known
as Interpol.
The two leaders, with
their teams, went to Germany with a view of bringing on board a
specialised team of Forensic Prosecutors.
On Tuesday, Kinoti said
the prosecutors will work closely with detectives in the prosecution of
complicated cases requiring such evidence.
On his part, BKA Vice
President, Michael Kretschmer, said his laboratory will assist Kenyans in
getting the best experts who will assist them in bringing the culprits to book.
