WETANGULA is a liar and I did not plot for his removal from the Senate, in fact me and KALONZO tried to help him - RAILA

Wednesday August 1, 2018 - Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader, Raila Odinga, has rubbished reports linking him to the removal of Bungoma Senator, Moses Wetangula, as Leader of Minority in the Senate.

In June, Wetangula was removed by NASA Senators as Minority Leader and his seat taken by Siaya Senator, James Orengo.

At that time, Wetangula claimed that Raila Odinga was behind a plot to remove him as the Senate Minority leader.

But appearing on Citizen TV on Tuesday evening, Raila said Wetangula’s removal from the Senate leadership was a resolve of the Senate and not him.

The former Premier said he pleaded with Senators from across the board to spare the Bungoma legislator "but all of them said that the marriage had been irredeemably broken".
"Wetangula himself is aware that I wrote a letter nominating him to the position," Raila said.

"So, me and Hon [Kalonzo] Musyoka could not do anything so we left it at that." Raila added.
