WAITITU tells UHURU to divert rivers in Nairobi because it is wrong to demolish buildings built on riparian land! Oh God

Monday August 13, 2018 - Kiambu Governor, Ferdinand Waititu, has shocked Kenyans after he opposed the ongoing demolition of properties built on riparian land.
A number of buildings have been brought down including West End Mall and Nakumatt Ukay.

However, speaking on Saturday, Waititu said it wrong to demolish properties in the name of conserving the river.

“If your house is next to a river, let the Government tell you to carter for diverting the river but not demolishing the property,” Waititu said.

“Kubomoa nyumba haitasaidia..," Waititu added. This is loosely translated to mean....destruction of the house will not give us solution

The controversial Governor urged National Environment Management Association (NEMA) and Nairobi County Government to look for alternative ways instead of bringing down property worth billions.
