WAIGURU tells NORDIN HAJJ to investigate her over sh 798 million NYS scandal - I am ashamed of being called a thief daily

Monday August 27, 2018 - Kirinyaga County Governor, Miss Anne Waiguru, has asked Director of Public Prosecutions, Nordin Hajj, to open up an old case where the Governor was implicated in the loss of Sh 798 million from the National Youth Service (NYS).

In a dossier by chief suspect of the NYS season 1, Josephine Kabura, the lady claimed that she stole the money together with Miss Anne Waiguru when she was Devolution Cabinet Secretary in 2015.

Kabura claimed that she was supplying air to NYS and paid and then shared the loot with Waiguru and her sister, Loise Mbarire.

In a letter to the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) on Sunday, Waiguru gave the commission seven days to open up the case because it has caused her an irreparable damage.

“EACC should release forthwith the outcome of the investigations on the affidavit by and forward the file to the DPP without further delay as required by law," Waiguru said.

Waiguru said the EACC summoned a number of people mentioned in the affidavit to record their statements but there was no outcome.

"EACC has a duty to our client and the public to expeditiously bring to a close this long outstanding matter.”

“We look forward to receiving a copy of the reports by early return and in any event within the next seven days," Waiguru said through her lawyer.

Waiguru made this request after she was named as the second most corrupt person in Kenya after Deputy President William Ruto who was ranked number one.
