TRUMP praises DPP NOORDIN HAJI and DCI KINOTI for the good job they are doing in the war against corruption

Friday August 10, 2018 - US President Donald Trump has praised the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Noordin Haji, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and other anti-graft agencies in the war against corruption

This comes following the arrest and prosecution of the former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero and several others for stealing public money.

Speaking during the launch of a Multi-Sectoral Forum Anti-Corruption Initiative, the US Government, through the outgoing US Ambassador to Kenya, Robert Godec, said joint efforts by DPP Noordin Haji, DCI and the Judiciary in fighting corruption were commendable.

He said the Donald Trump-led Government was ready to support President Uhuru Kenyatta's spirited war on corruption through the DPP, DCI, Chief Justice, Auditor General and Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.

"I welcome and commend their efforts to address this scourge.”

“My country is not perfect as we also faced graft throughout history.”

“Some of our great cities had to fight hard but we have made progress through strong actions by our FBI, local police, building of strong transparent institutions and efforts to ensure the rule of law," said Godec.

"To end corruption, theft and plunder however, Kenya needs a national movement to sustain the fight against graft.”

“We all know the terrible cost of corruption.”

“Corruption is a cancer that is killing Kenya and it must end.”

“I urge every Kenyan to reject it completely," he added.
