Thursday August 9, 2018 - It seems Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko is not joking with anybody, especially land grabbers in the city.
This is after he put Weston Hotel, which is owned by none other than Deputy President William Ruto, on notice for grabbing land belonging to Langata Primary School.
In a statement to Kenyans, Sonko ordered Ruto to relinquish land belonging to Langata Primary School.
He also ordered 14 others who have grabbed land meant for public facilities to relinquish claim before the bulldozers arrive.
Sonko took to social media to warn those who reside or operate business on grabbed land to vacate as soon as possible because he is coming for them with his bulldozer.
He vowed to demolish even the Weston Hotel, which grabbed a playground from Langata Primary School, in order to leave a solid legacy.
“Better be a one term Governor and leave a legacy than entertaining grabbing of public land/utilities.”
“Remove all your valuables from the under mentioned public utilities with immediate effect because we are coming to demolish them,” Sonko said.
The Governor further ordered that all grabbed land in all the estates within Nairobi that were reserved for playgrounds should be returned to the Government with immediate effect.
