Monday August 20, 2018 - Deputy President William Ruto is using taxpayers’ money to campaign for his 2022 presidential bid, East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP, Dr Oburu Odinga, has said.
Addressing journalists in Bondo, Siaya County on Sunday following Ruto's calls for NASA principal Musalia Mudavadi to support his bid in the next election, Oburu said Ruto is busy wasting public money on his campaigns instead of  concentrating on President Uhuru Kenyatta's Big Four  agenda.

Oburu said Kenyans need a break from politics because they faced the longest elections period in history after the August 8th, 2017 ballot.

He further accused Ruto of using Government machinery and resources to go to every corner of the country to popularise himself.

"We will not allow the DP to misuse Kenyans' taxes in early campaigns before the IEBC declares [the dates],” Oburu said.

Oburu's remarks came after Ruto asked Mudavadi and National Super Alliance (NASA) leader, Raila Odinga, to support his bid in 2022 saying he supported them in 2008 when they became Deputy Prime Minister and Prime Minister respectively.
