RAILA’s MPs in ODM now claim ROTICH is being shielded by RUTO even after allowing the poisonous sugar into the country

Monday August 13, 2018 - Days after the report on contraband sugar was shot down on the floor of the National Assembly, MPs allied to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga are calling the move a waste of tax payers’ money and time.

Speaking in Rangwe Constituency, the ODM legislators are now alleging that Deputy President William Ruto had a hand in making sure that the report failed in a bid to protect his Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich.

According to MPs, the recommendation to hold Cabinet Secretaries Henry Rotich and Adan Mohammed culpable for the contraband and contaminated sugar in the country is the reason the house shot down the report for a second time.

Led by Mbita MP, Millie Odhiambo, the legislators are now calling on the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to investigate the matter.

During the debate on contraband sugar, there were claims that that some MPs were bribed with as little as sh10, 000 to shoot down the report.
