MOHAMED ALI accuses Speaker JUSTIN MUTURI of ignoring young MPs - He gives old geezers a lot of time to talk

Wednesday August 15, 2018 - Nyali MP, Mohamed Ali, has accused Speaker of the National Assembly, Justin Muturi, of ignoring young parliamentarians and giving old men and women a lot of time in Parliament.
In an interview with Hot 96 on Wednesday morning, the youthful MP said young MPs were not being given equal opportunities in the August House to speak.

However, Moha’s sentiments were rubbished by Muturi’s Communication Officer, Paul Mugambi, who said the Speaker ensures there is equality in the house.

“There is a system that is used to get members to speak.”

“If you log in at 2.30 PM when the session starts you will be on top of the log, if you come in at 4 PM do not expect to be on top,” Mugambi said.

“There are also many balances that the speaker has to follow.”

“You have to look at the Majority Party, Minority Party, Independent, Gender, Region among others.”

“Every member has a fair chance to speak," Mugambi added.
