MIKE SONKO attacks WAITITU after he opposes the ongoing demolitions of buildings that were built on riparian land

Tuesday August 14, 2018 - Nairobi Governor, Mike Sonko, has castigated his Kiambu counterpart, Ferdinand Waititu, for opposing the ongoing demolition of buildings built on riparian land.
On Sunday, Waititu who was speaking at a church function in Kiambu, said he doesn’t support the ongoing demolitions and instead asked the County Government to move the rivers.

“I do not support the issue of demolitions.”

“If your building is close to a river, you should incur the costs of having the river moved a little further.”

“But demolishing a building is not a solution, honestly speaking.”

“It is such a big loss,” Waititu told a church congregation.

Waititu’s remarks generated a lot of mixed reactions and Sonko took to social media and castigated the Punjabi University educated Governor.

My good friend and colleague should concentrate on his county or maybe he does not know what is the definition of Riparian land.”

“That’s why even in campus he was copying me during CATs. In fact, he needs to tell us the status of a petrol station constructed on a grabbed public access at the junction of Mihango and Njiru. Or maybe he’s scared of the facts.”

“He (Waititu) should know we don’t mix friendship with work. Even Weston (Hotel) and many other buildings shall not be spared if found to be on riparian land,” Sonko said.

  1. Sometimes our politicians are outright empty headed or mad. Can someone ask Waititu for me: on whose land will a river be diverted to? Will it be pushed to the fellow on the opposite side of the river who has left the riparian land on his side of the river intact? Sounds like childlike thinking.

  2. Sonko, you are on point here! Sema usiogope. Hapo tuko pamoja kabisa. On this matter of Bomoa-Bomoa, we are solidly behind the president. Bora tu kusiwe na ubagusi kwa kubomoa. Kama Ukay ilitoka, Taj Mall pia na T-Mall, na xyc.. malls, petrol stations, cars wash, mitumba yards nkt sitoke kwa public land.

    Watu waizi wasikie uchungu!!
