Friday August 17, 2018 - Former Agriculture Minister, Kipruto arap Kirwa, has challenged President Uhuru Kenyatta to repossess buildings constructed on public land and on riparian and road reserves instead of demolishing such properties.

Speaking yesterday during a media interview, Kirwa said it was not the best approach and instead urged the Government to repossess the buildings on public land.

According to Kirwa, some of the buildings on road reserves have been around for over 20 years and it's was not right to just demolish them.

His sentiments come barely a day after Taj Mall owner, Ramesh Gorasia, offered to sell his building to the Government for public use instead of it being demolished for being on a road reserve.

However, the Government has maintained that all buildings on riparian lands and road reserves will be demolished and all those culpable arrested.

Ukay centre and South End mall have already been demolished with a notice for demolition issued to Taj Mall and Deputy President William Ruto’s Weston Hotel.

  1. Arap Kirwa kindly slide right back into whichever hole you just crawled out off and go to sleep until 20222. Remember the sugar saga during your time as Min of Agr? It is still fresh in some of our minds. Wacha Uhuru atutengenezee taifa cos muliharibu wakati wenu. Ptuuuh, bure tu!
