Friday August 10, 2018 - Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore has finally opened up about his relationship with National Super Alliance (NASA) leader, Raila Odinga.
During the August 8th , 2017 General Elections, Raila Odinga, who was contesting for the Presidency for the fourth time accused Safaricom and its managers of colluding with the Jubilee Government to rig his ultimate victory.

In fact during the time, Raila Odinga instructed his supporters to boycott Safaricom and even many supporters switched to Airtel and Telcom lines.

But appearing on Jeff Koinange Live (JKL) on Wednesday, Collymore, who had just returned from Britain where he was receiving treatment for cancer said he still enjoys a cordial relationship with the veteran politician despite the threats.

The Safaricom boss revealed that Raila and other politicians were contacting him while he was receiving specialized treatment at the Royal Hospital in London.

“I was getting messages from very many people, customers, politicians even from the people who were trying to resist,” Colllymore told Jeff Koinange.

"Many of the political leaders reached out and they were in touch. I spoke to Raila several times. I also spoke with Deputy President and His Excellency,” Collymore added.

He also jokingly said he regularly teases Odinga every time he calls him.

“I still tease Raila when he calls, I tell him you couldn’t resist me now what do you want,” Collymore said.
