August 18, 2018 - Renowned
political analyst, Mutahi Ngunyi, has put up a special request to Nairobi
Governor Mike Sonko, ahead of Idd-ul-Azha celebrations on Tuesday.
On Friday, Interior Coordination
Cabinet Secretary, Fred Matiang’i, declared Tuesday August 21st,
2018 a public holiday to celebrate Idd-ul-Azha.
“ It is notified for the general information of the
public that, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Public
Holidays Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Co-ordination of National
Government declares that Tuesday, the 21st August, 2018 be a public holiday to
mark Idd-ul-Azha, 2018,” read the notice signed by Dr. Matiang’i.
Sharing his thoughts via social
media after Matiangi declared the holiday, Mutahi urged Sonko to halt
demolitions on Tuesday to allow Muslims enjoy their holiday in peace.
“Make
SURE there are NO Demolitions on TUESDAY. Let us CELEBRATE the Father of our
Faith, ABRAHAM without STRESS. Please! SONKO. Idd-ul-Azha,” Mutahi, who is famous for his "Tyranny of Numbers" hypothesis
in 2013, said.
