August 27, 2018 - The
Senate Powers and Privileges Committee chaired by Speaker Kenneth Lusaka has
written to four lawmakers who reportedly asked for a sh 100 million bribe
from the owner of the controversial Ruaraka Land.
Lusaka told the four to
appear before the committee on Thursday and shed light on the alleged bribe.
In an audio clip he gave
to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI), Francis Mburu said he
recorded the 4 Senators demanding the bribe to exonerate him from the
Ruaraka Land Scandal payment.
The Senate’s Public
Accounts Committee was investigating circumstances under which Mburu was
allegedly paid Sh1.5 billion as part of a deal for compulsory acquisition of
13.5 acres also claimed by Ruaraka High and Drive-Inn Primary Schools.
In His statement to the DCI, Mburu said PAC
chairman, Moses Kajwang, was among the Senators who were demanding a bribe from
him.
Others are
Meru Senator, Mithika Linturi, Kiambu Senator, Kimani Wa Matangi and nominated
Senator, Beatrice Omanga.
However the four greedy Senators
have dismissed these claims.
