Thursday August 16, 2018 - Former Lagdera MP, Farah Maalim, has proposed total
abolition of the democratic process as the sole way to choosing a President.
Maalim
blamed the failure by Kenya’s political class to curb runaway corruption on the
pure Presidential electoral system that has left commoners at their own mercy.
He
urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to become a dictator for him to fight corruption
well saying Kenya needs a dictator to slay the vice.
"The
first past post and pure Presidential electoral systems we practice embed
corruption and ethnicity.”
“We
can't expect political class to fight source of their validation.”
“The
system of democracy we practice must die if the country is to survive.”
“Economic
elite run reforms failed," Maalim tweeted.
The
former legislator likened levels of corruption which is eating into public
coffers to a stage four cancer recurring despite medications.
“Corruption
is a terminal disease like stage 4 cancer in Kenya.”
“You
can try a raft of medications such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy etc, but
invariably ultimately kills.”
“The
system of democracy we practice must die if the country is to survive.”
“Economic
Elite run reforms failed,” he added.
