DPP NOORDIN HAJI strikes again! Calls for the arrest of seven officials from Homa Bay over corruption! Here is exactly what they did

Thursday August 16, 2018 - The Director of Public Prosecutions, Nordin Haji, has called for the arrest of seven Homa Bay County Government officials over corruption related cases.
The seven are said to be involved in fictitious procurement and payment of MCAs' allowances for the financial years 2014/15 and 2016/2017.

In a statement on Thursday, Haji said those involved are the County Assembly Clerk, Members of the County Assembly (MCAs), together with suspects from the Finance and Procurement Department.

The DPP said the payments were made through procurement of hotel services and payments of MCAs' allowances.

The seven include Micheal Owino Ooro, Issac Nyandege, Judith Omongi, Otieno Bob Kephas, Caroline Sang, Morris Amok and Edwin Okollo.

"I have received the file and I am satisfied the persons named herein actively participated in the perpetration of the alleged criminal activities and should, therefore, be charged and prosecuted,” he said.

In February, some Homa Bay MCAs asked the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to investigate cases of alleged corruption at the assembly.
