Are JOHO and KINGI planning to dump RAILA at the same time? See what is happening as they pull a first one on Baba

Thursday August 16, 2018 - After months of a strained relationship, Mombasa Governors Hassan Ali Joho and his Kilifi counterpart, Amason Kingi, yesterday buried the hatchet as they jointly hosted Coast MCAs in a bid to unite the region.

The two met 175 out of the 206 MCAs in Mombasa and declared that they were ready to listen to proposals for the formation of a Coast political party to chart the region’s political future.

Even though Joho backed calls for political unity, he clarified that any decision that he, Kingi and other leaders, will reach will be determined by the popular will of Coast residents.

“It is still too early to launch campaigns for 2022.”

“When the right time comes we could also join that race,” Joho said.

Joho and Kingi at the same time declared that they were willing to go it alone as the Coast region in 2022, a clear indication that they might dump Raila Odinga and his ODM Party ahead of the 2022 elections.
