The rich also cry - The power bills these rich Kenyans pay monthly will shock you (PHOTOs)

Tuesday, July 31, 2018 - If you thought only the common folk are feeling robbed by Kenya Power with inflated monthly bills, you are wrong.

The energy distributing company has come under fire with many Kenyans getting crazy electricity bills.

Some of the renowned Kenyan personalities who have taken to social media to complain about their power bills include City lawyers, Ahmed Nassir Abdulahi, Paul Muite and even businessman and former Kiambu Governor, William Kabogo.
Media personality, Jeff Koinage, also shared his power bill that stood at Sh72,000 on live TV during an interview with Energy PS, Eng. Joseph Njoroge.

After social media protest, the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) on Monday scrapped the Sh150 standing fee charged on power consumers in the country which will see a drastic reduction of electricity bills.

The ERC further announced a 36 percent reduction in retail tariff charged on domestic consumers.
