MATIANGI snubs Senate again after CS AMINA MOHAMMED threw him under the bus over sh1.5 billion Ruaraka land scam

Tuesday July 31, 2018 - Interior Cabinet Secretary, Fred Matiang’i, has failed to appear before a Senate team to respond to issues raised over the controversial sh1.5 billion Ruaraka land saga.

This is after her Education counterpart told the Moses Kajwang-led Senate Committee that compensation for the land was not procedural and that Matiangi, who was the Education Cabinet Secretary when the transactions took place, should take the blame.

According to Amina, Matiangi hurriedly paid for the land without even verifying the documents and that the land does not have even the title deed - something that raised more questions than answers.

The Chair, Mr. Moses Kajwang, has responded angrily to Matiangi’s move to snub the Senate committee despite inviting him to respond to the claims over the Ruaraka land.

“It was an invitation not a summon.”

“We have been informed he has other commitments,” Kajwang said on Tuesday.

The committee said they are trying to determine how two schools under Nairobi City County were sold back to the National Government.

“The schools were managed by the County Council, they were supposed to be transferred to Nairobi County,” Kajwang added.
