Let no one lie to you, KIKUYUs and KALENJINs are united and will support RUTO’s presidential bid in 2022 - Jubilee MP

Sunday July 29, 2018 - A vocal Jubilee Party MP has dismissed a narrative being propagated by a section of opposition politicians that the Mt. Kenya region will not support Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.

Speaking in Eldoret on Friday, Kesses MP, Dr. Swarup Mishra, said Kikuyus and Kalenjin are still united despite claims by NASA leaders that Mt Kenya region is going to abandon Ruto’s presidential quest in 2022.

“Who said Kikuyu's will not vote for DP Ruto in 2022?”

“This is a baseless speculation that seeks to divide the two communities which have enjoyed a good relationship since 2013,” Mishra stated.

The soft spoken lawmaker further pointed out that President Uhuru Kenyatta and the DP had an agreement in 2013 which still exists.

“Why are people politicking over the matter and yet the President and his deputy have not at any point talked about it.”

“The 21013 MoU still stands and the President will support the DP as his successor in 2022," he said.

The first time lawmaker also cautioned opposition leaders against sabotaging the DP's State House bid insisting that he is their preferred candidate.
