Forget RAILA ODINGA’s fake handshake, UHURU and KIKUYU must and will support RUTO in 2022-Duale

Friday July 13, 2018-National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has reiterated that President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Jubilee Party will support Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 Presidential bid despite a peace pact with Opposition leader Raila Odinga.

Speaking during an interview, Duale said Raila did not join Jubilee by agreeing to work with Uhuru, noting that he was not worried that the handshake deal would be an impediment to Ruto's ambition.

At the same time, Duale trashed the statements from Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria insinuating there was division in the ruling party, saying there were no cracks in Jubilee.

"Raila didn't join Jubilee by shaking hands with Uhuru. Ruto's succession plan is intact and unstoppable.”

“The handshake was an informal meeting which reassured Kenyans the two leaders valued Kenya over personal and political interests.”

“If Jubilee would have merged with Orange Democratic Movement then we would be worried about DP's future," said Duale.

He also defended Ruto’s absence from the handshake, terming it a non-issue.

“Raila is the leader of Opposition and must continue to keep the Government on check which is his cardinal role as we implement our Big Four agenda.”

“As Jubilee, we are united under one leader who makes key policy decisions which we have no obligation not to support whether consulted or not," added the Garissa Town MP.
