CS MATIANGI was to resign on Wednesday but UHURU begged him to stay! Here is the reason why he asked him to

Saturday July 28, 2018 - President Uhuru Kenyatta has advised Interior Coordination Cabinet Secretary, Fred Matiang’i, not to resign over the controversial Sh 1.6 billion Ruaraka Land Scandal.

On Wednesday, Matiangi wrote a resignation letter to the President but Uhuru convinced him not to resign.

In the letter to the President, Matiangi accused some colleagues in Cabinet of maligning his name using the Ruaraka Land scandal.

“He was damn serious about it. He thinks there is a plot by even his colleagues to taint his name,”

"And just on Wednesday when about to tender resignation, President Uhuru Kenyatta called and advised against the move," said a State House source who requested anonymity.

While appearing at the Senate Committee this week, Education CS, Amina Mohammed, openly seemed to blame Matiang'i in what she called 'haste' acquisition of Sh3.2 billion Ruaraka land.

And similar sentiments were shared by Lands CS, Farida Karoney, who insisted that the law was violated.

In June, Matiang'i publicly contradicted Industrialization CS, Adan Mohammed, over presence of mercury in sugar. Mohammed would later be transferred to the EAC docket.

The three CSs are said to be targeting Matiang’i because he is very close to the President.
