Cries and uproar as World Bank orders UHURU/ RUTO to sack over 43, 000 civil servants! We are back in the 90s

...getting rid of ghost and redundant workers in a bid to reduce the wage bill.

The World Bank further noted that the current expenditure in revenue for both County and National Governments requires an ambitious cut.

According to the 2015 plan, over 43, 000 civil servants will be offered a chance to retire.
They will also receive a golden handshake of between 450,000 and 750,000 shillings.

This is not the first time this is happening to civil servants.

Back in the 90s, retired President, Daniel Arap Moi, was forced to send civil servants home on forced retirement by international donors as a condition for accessing funds.
