MIKE SONKO gives suffering PLO LUMUMBA, a job at the county after he was sacked from KSL! Kenyans are talking

...review and clear all pending debts for goods supplied and services rendered during former Governor Evans Kidero’s administration.

In a gazette notice last week, Sonko directed all suppliers with pending bills to make an official claim at the County within 21 days for review and clearance.

The Lumumba-led committee, whose lifespan is one year, has one month to scrutinize all pending bills and present an interim report to Sonko immediately.

Former LSK Chair, Eric Mutua, and Martin Wamae were named as co-chairs of the committee.

  1. The next immediate challenge that needs a PLO Lumumba of its kind is humanizing the Nairobi County Emergency Response landscape. The County may invest in new equipment all they want, but with the incompetent lot they currently call firemen, it is an exercise in futility tantamount to perfecting the art of pounding water in a mould.
Many may remember the days of Kenya’s first ever private fire service, Urban Fire Services, operating from Gigiri, many of us living around Rwaka do with, nostalgia those men & women in orange and red rescue overalls doing hose drills or morning runs at the crack of dawn.
When it came to professional etiquette, they were top of their game with bravery unseen to date, as proven during the City Hall fire, Muchatha petrol tanker, Langata Road LPG tanker accident and various others, under the command of their no-nonsense daredevil leader the Mnubi guy who made the likes of the City Council Fire Brigade led by then Chief Mutevu and the recently fired Brian Kisali as his assistant chief look like the amateurs they were.
For Nairobi to begin having a semblance of a top fire service, Governor Sonko needs to contact the Kenya Embassy Kuwait, bring the guy back from the diaspora and draft him into the County Disaster Response Arrangements, to help clean the Nairobi Fire & Rescue Service mess.
