BABU OWINO‘s election as Embakasi East MP nullified by High Court, slapped with Sh5Million fine.

Friday, March 02, 2018- Embakasi East MP, Babu Owino, has lost his seat after High Court rules the August 8, 2017 election was marred by widespread errors.

The ruling comes barely a week after the court ordered a re-count where Owino still beat the petitioner, Francis Mureithi of Jubilee by over 4000 votes.

While delivering the ruling, Judge Joseph Sergon noted that Owino coerced and intimidated the Returning officer during the August poll.

Speaking after the ruling, Babu, who has been a fierce critic of President Uhuru Kenyatta, blamed State House for his woes and confirmed he will appeal.

He said: "The whole nation knows that this is a war of the President and Deputy President against Babu Owino. I have opposed them and now they are fighting back. The President is controlling the judiciary.

"If Uhuru and Ruto decide to vie in Embakasi East I will beat them". He added.

  2. hapana cheza na serikali gijana,,,umeona keter?ujuaji yako itakuuua

  3. Kueson.. Will Babu refund the salary earned to date ?

  4. Listen to this manner-less boy again. where is Uhuru and Ruto coming in here? You lost the seat. My advice is start campaigning. Uhuruto's 8th August 2017 win was nullified by the same courts. If they were all powerful and able to control the judges, then their win would have been upheld. Therefore shut you stinking mouth.
