Wednesday August 2, 2017-It is good news for persons living with disability after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) partnered with Uber and United Disabled Persons of Kenya (UDPK) to offer free rides to and from polling stations on the election day.

The free taxi rides will be for persons living with disability who are registered voters in Thika, Nairobi and Mombasa.

The PLWDs will be offered with special codes to enjoy the two free rides on the polling day.

Uber will also offer all new and existing riders a sh200 discount to and their polling stations in the selected cities and town.

Uber General Manager for East Africa Loic Amando disclosed the good news in a statement, saying the free rides will apply from 6am to 6pm on the 8th of August.
