RAILA shocked as IEBC does the unthinkable even after HASSAN’s exit! May never win

Sunday October 30, 2016 - Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s CORD has been dealt a heavy blow in its bid to ensure the 2017 General Elections are free and fair.

This is after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) ignored CORD’s proposal for a new voter register and instead went ahead to with an idea of auditing the already existing register ahead of 2017.

In a statement on Friday, IEBC announced that it will go ahead to audit the register despite CORD’s advocacy for a new one.

The electoral agency noted that the preparation for the 2017 polls were in top gear and would not create a new voter register but audit the existing one.

“Eleven firms which responded to the expression of interest are being evaluated and those which meet the requirement will be invited to respond to a request for proposal,” said IEBC.
