Monday October 24, 2016 - Last week CORD leader,
Raila Odinga, left the country for Britain where he was set to address
Metropolitan University students and meet senior leaders of the British
Government.
Raila, who left the country during Mashujaa Day, was showered
with praises by his sycophants who termed him as a global icon and a renowned
democratic.
But as Raila was being praised by his sycophants here, 4,500
miles away, he was cutting deals with Sportpesa, a Kenyan betting company.
Months ago, Raila was among opposition leaders who were
demanding that betting companies be regulated and his party sponsored a bill, through
his cousin and Gem MP, Jakoyo Midiwo, to have an ad hoc committee investigate
betting companies.
In his speech around two months ago, Raila blamed runway
gambling on the glorification of the “hustler philosophy” which extols quick
primitive accumulation of wealth at the expense of other values.
The former Premier also said that the hustler philosophy
cannot grow the country but would instead kill the economy and impoverish
millions while creating only a handful of hustlers.
But two months later, Raila
has gone to bed with betting companies after they paid him a bribe and an
exclusive ticket to watch an Arsenal in London (and possibly many more in
future).
