News 23:46

Speaking after
touring the region yesterday, Ruto assured residents that the Government will do
everything possible to ensure that peace is restored in the region.
He put cattle
rustlers, who are perpetrating violence in Kerio Valley, on notice saying their
days are numbered.
“Today, all police
officers living in Tot and other adjacent areas should relocate to Kerio Valley
to contain the deteriorating security situation. It is the duty of the
Government to protect lives and property. We are promising to apprehend the
suspects dead or alive and ensure that no lawlessness exists in Kerio Valley,”
said Ruto.
“It is a shame that
this region has continued to witness cattle rustling despite efforts by the
Government and local leaders to foster peaceful coexistence through peace
meetings,” he added.
He was accompanied
by Interior Cabinet Secretary, Joseph Nkaisery.
