Former Minister dumps his party & joins UHURU’s Jubilee even as those who joined cry foul

Saturday, 29 October 2016 - Uhuru/ Ruto’s Jubilee Party has received another boost to its growing numbers after another defector joined their ranks.

Former Assistant Minister and former President Mwai Kibaki’s nephew, Nderitu Muriithi, decamped from the Party of National Unity (PNU), which is associated with Meru Governor Peter Munya, to Jubilee Party ahead of the 2017 General Elections.

Muriiti’s decision to join Jubilee Party comes following a passionate appeal by Deputy President William Ruto who begged him to come on board ahead of next year.

However, he said he still respects PNU because of Mwai Kibaki and asked the officials not to dissolve it as demanded by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, William Ruto, in order to protect and preserve Kibaki’s legacy.

“PNU should be left intact to protect the legacy of retired President Mwai Kibaki and as the party that gave the country the present Constitution," said Muriithi.
