CJ MARAGA states what he’ll do if RAILA challenges 2017 election again on first day in office

Wednesday October 19, 2016 - Chief Justice David Maraga has set the 2017 election disputes as his priority as he took office today as the new CJ and President of the Supreme Court after being sworn in by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking after the swearing in, Maraga said that the Judiciary under his leadership is ready to hear and resolve any election disputes in the 2017 General Election, including a Presidential petition.

He noted that having chaired the Judiciary Committee on Elections, he and his team have put in place preparations to ensure that any disputes are resolved professionally and within the stipulated timelines.
