How JSC arrived at MARAGA’s name as the Chief Justice - UHURU’s 2017 political matrix

Thursday, September 22, 2016 - On Thursday, the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) nominated Justice David Maraga and forwarded his name to the President for appointment as the next Chief Justice.

Maraga's name will be at President Uhuru Kenyatta’s desk for formal appointment and forwarded to the National Assembly for approval by MPs. 

Maraga, 64, was named as the top candidate after beating a group of 13 candidates who applied for the Chief Justice’s job.

  1. It doesn't make sense. Totally irrational. If the President purposed to use CJ position to solicit for votes, he could have influenced the nomination of Smokin Wanjala as Luhyas have more votes than Abagusiis [Kisii]. The allegation doesn't add up & Kenyans today are more enlightened to be taken for fools.

  2. Empty debes make most noise. Talk is cheap. You mean there is no other part of Kenya with votes to be won through appointments. Sometimes I really get exasperated by these small time theories. Kenya will definitely become civilized and advance when people grow-up enough to see even the obvious things - for instance the CJ position could only go to one man or woman, from any corner of Kenya. Sawa. Same on all tribalists.
