Sunday October 21, 2018-Kisii Governor, James Ongwae, is the talk of town in Gusiiland due to his expensive homes that he has built in the last six years that he has been the Governor.

He has managed to keep details of his three palatial homes a top secret just avoid the attention of anti-corruption agencies.

According to sources, Ongwae is a proud owner of three homes with one being highly secured in the neighbouring Nyamira County.

In Kitutu Chache Constituency, Ongwae has a mansion at his ancestral home in Rioma Village, a palace he has occupied since March 2017. He put up the home after demolishing the house he used to live in before getting into politics.

Ongwae has another home in Bobaru, Nyamira County at an area called Simbauti Farm, Kijauri. This one is well guarded and only a hawk eyes can have its view as it is sandwiched between layers of live fences and trees.

His multi-million mansion in Nyamira stands on 15-acre piece of land and he only lets in a select few who confirmed the details while insisting on anonymity.

During the election petition challenging his win, Ongwae invited journalists to one his home but warned them against taking pictures of his palace just to avoid getting attention.

He heavily reprimanded a reporter who tried to photograph the house.

"Who told you to take pictures here?”

“This is a private home," Ongwae lashed out at one shocked photojournalist who attempted to photograph his house.
