Friday October 26, 2018-Migori Governor, Okoth Obado, has promised to respect the bail terms as set by Nairobi High Court in Nairobi.
Speaking for the first time since he was released from prison following the murder of his ex-lover, Sharon Otieno,  Obado said he would uphold the court's conditions one of which he was ordered not to step within 20km from Homa Bay county where Sharon's parents stay.
The Governor lauded Lady Justice Jessie Lessit for granting him freedom, saying he was now has all the time to effectively work for Migori residents.
"I also thank the court for listening to our request and granting me the bail.”
“This has now given me opportunity to effectively work for the people of Migori as their Governor.”
“I promise to respect the court and abide by the conditions it set," Obado said.
This means the Migori Governor will not set foot in his mansion in Homa Bay any time soon as doing so would be violating his bail term and might be arrested as a result.
