Machakos MCAs in trouble for passing People’s Assembly motion! They may lose their seats courtesy of ALFRED MUTUA

Mutua now wants to be enjoined in Githu Muigai’s case about the legality of the People’s Assemblies.

“We will ask the court to declare that all MCAs who unconstitutionally voted for the People’s Assemblies assumed to have automatically resigned," Muigai said.

The hardworking Governor argued that the MCAs had surrendered their roles back to the people and cannot continue holding office.

“Elected leaders cannot turn around and by their own vote, surrender their role to the people and then continue to serve in office,” Mutua said.

  2. In sync with Dr Alfred Mutua's argument. If in passing the Peoples Assembly motion is giving back the power to the people, then it should follow that by that act, one willingly and knowingly cedes their elective power to represent the people; for now the people represent themselves. Have them all go home, not only on Machakos, but across all counties where such motions, as much of illegalities as they are, were passed.
