Monday, December 18, 2017- The devil seems to have paid us a courtesy call this month of December from the horrific crashes being witnessed in our roads.

Eighteen people perished on Sunday night in yet another grisly road accident on the Thika-Garissa highway near Kilimambogo area taking the death toll to over via raid carnage in December to over  17o people.

The accident involved a lorry and a matatu belonging to Kinatwa Sacco which was headed to Kitui from Nairobi.

According to Thika Traffic Base Commander Michael Lemaiyan the driver of the Matatu swerved to avoid hitting a motorcyclist and in the process collided head-on with an oncoming lorry.

The Matatu driver and ten passengers died on the spot while seven others succumbed while undergoing treatment at Thika Level Five Hospital.

The Kenyan DAILY POST.

  1. The holidays carnage is here with us and the policy guys are doing nothing. This is now an emergency and, we need an EXECUTIVE DECISION going forward, before more lives are lost.

  2. God help us because we can't help ourselves. 18 people dead and others recuperating?. Assuming the lorry had 2 occupants, thenthe matatu was seriously overloaded. Were there no police/NTSA officers along the route to arrest the matatu driver before this happened or they had already been bribed as usual. The police/NTSA or the Government should be ashamed while reporting the number of casualties from a single accident that involved only two vehicle that should have a maximum of
16 occupants: 2 in the lorry and 14 in the matatu. The death toll should not reach 18 not unless pedestrians were also involved. Shame to all (Police, NTSA and CS-Transport and the entire Govt.)
