ELECTIONS LAW must be CHANGED whether you like it or not – UHURU tells RAILA ODINGA

Friday September 29, 2017- President Uhuru Kenyatta has said Jubilee Party MPs are determined to change the Election laws to seal the loopholes that allowed the Supreme Court to nullify the August 8th general election.

Speaking while campaigning in Busia County on Friday, Uhuru said Jubilee will use it majority in the National Assembly and Senate to ensure Kenyans have a credible poll on October 26th.

“Wenzetu wanasema walifurahia uamuzi wa Korti, sahi wanasema mambo ya masharti. Jameni uchaguzi sio haki ya kiongozi ni haki ya mwananchi and Bunge ifanye kazi yake," Uhuru said.

This loosely translates to, "Our friends said they were happy with the Supreme Court ruling, and now they are talking about conditions. Elections are not the rights of politicians, they are the rights of citizens. Let Parliament perform its duties."

Uhuru said the proposed law was for the good of Kenya and that it followed after the Court ruling pin pointed certain areas that needed to be improved.

"Hii ndio kitu wabunge wanafanya. Sasa, tumefanya nini ya makosa? Mwingine anazunguka akinitusi ati mimi ni kifaranga cha computer hehehehhe," he said amidst laughter.

He also begged Busia county voters to give him his vote on 26th October which also coincides with his birthday.
