Election observer (ELOG) makes shocking confession about August polls even after endorsing UHURU’s win

Monday September 4, 2017-Election Observer Group (ELOG) has made a shocking confession about the August 8th polls after the Supreme Court nullified the election of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking during a press conference on Monday, ELOG Chairperson Regina Opondo revealed that they did not monitor the transmission of election results by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

This comes even as the observer group had endorsed the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta, saying the polls were free and fair. The group had also joined other international observer groups to urge NASA Leader Raila Odinga to concede defeat claiming the polls were credible and reflected the will of the Kenyan people.

“On the matter of results transmission, that was beyond our scope of hat we had monitored, but we recommended for the process to be simplified for all the stakeholders involved,” Opondo said.
