Construction of SGR Phase II starts this month-this is how it will look like-PHOTOs

Wednesday, 02 August 2017-The construction of the second phase of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) is set to begin anytime this month after government secured a Shs. 155 Billion loan from china's Exim Bank.

The 490km stretch from Nairobi to Malaba via Kisumu will be divided into three sub-phases.

Phase 2A will cover 120km from Nairobi to Naivasha Industrial Park in Enosupukia.

Phase 2B, will run from Naivasha to Kisumu (a 262km stretch) via Narok, Bomet and Nyamira.

The final 107km phase will run from Kisumu to Malaba through Yala and Mumias.
