NAIROBI, MOMBASA and NAKURU residents defy RAILA ODINGA's call to boycott work

Monday August 14, 2017-Workers in Nairobi, Mombasa and Nakuru counties have ignored calls by NASA Presidential candidate, Raila Odinga, to boycott work.

Speaking in Kibera on Sunday Raila who is also the ODM party leader asked supporters to strike from work on Monday pending an announcement by the Opposition.

But a spot check in three counties revealed that a significant number of people reported to work as early as 6am.

Those interviewed said they have a lot of financial needs and cannot afford not to turn up at work.

Some said Raila should seek legal recourse if he is dissatisfied with the August 8 election results.

“Most of those who lost in the election had accepted the will of the people and Raila should be no exception,"said Former Molo MP, Jacob Macharia who lost the Tuesday’s election to newcomer.

Macharia said Kenyans need to remember the effects of the 2007-2008 post-election violence, especially its economic impact.

  3. If he is serious about boycott, let his body guards, drivers, watchmen and all his workers boycott work. Secondly, the doctors treating his daughter should also boycott work in solidarity.

  4. RAO told me to boycott work this morning but he didn't give me unga to feed my family. So I used my good brain; I went to work. By 6:40 am, I was in my place of work. Jobs are hard to comeby. I cant risk being fired just because I obeyed Baba. He was not reasonable.
