WAWERU admits WAIGURU & UHURU’s relatives are thieves; says corruption will kill JubileeCounty Politics, News 02:11
Sunday, November 20, 2016 - Dagoretti South Member of Parliament, Dennis Waweru, has for the first time acknowledged there being rampant corruption in the Jubilee Government.
Speaking on Thursday, Waweru, who is eyeing the Nairobi Gubernatorial seat on a Jubilee Party ticket, challenged President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, William Ruto, to act fast and tame graft or else it will scuttle their re-election bid in 2017.
However, the Jubilee legislator blamed institutions charged with fighting corruption for failing the President in the war against graft.
He cited the EACC, DPP, Judiciary and the police as the agencies which have subverted Uhuru’s quest to tackle graft despite the President empowering them to do their job.
“It is very disappointing to everyone to have empowered and well funded institutions looking the other way in the war on graft,” said Waweru.
“Kenyans are frustrated to see individuals who have stolen public funds walking freely, dishing out ill-gotten cash and now representing themselves for elective seats,” he added.
It is believed sh1.8 billion was lost in the NYS scandal while a whopping sh5.3 billion was looted at Afya House by among others, President Uhuru Kenyatta’s relatives.
