RUTO tells RAILA ODINGA to speak about a Sh 1.8 billion scandal in Kilifi - ODM involved!Other Political News, Politics 04:52
Sunday, November 20, 2016 - Deputy President William Ruto has asked CORD leader, Raila Odinga, to speak out on Kilifi County scandal where Kilifi Governor, Amason Kingi, has stolen billions of shillings over the last one year.
Preliminary investigations show that over Sh 1.8 billion have been stolen by the ODM Governor, his close relatives and friends.
Speaking in Kilifi on Thursday, Ruto ordered for the arrest and prosecution of suspects in the scandal saying days of stealing public money is long gone.
“Every year, the national Government allocates Sh 9 billion to Kilifi County due to the numerous problems it faces but it is embarrassing to hear that some people have colluded to steal the funds,” Ruto said.
Ruto also urged Raila Odinga to speak out on the scandal given his ‘firm stand’ on corruption nationally.
“We demand that Mr Odinga speaks out about the scandal which seems to be bigger than the NYS one, which he condemned strongly.”
“Why is he now silent on this one? Does it mean that he sees corruption only when it touches on Jubilee and not when ODM is involved?” asked Ruto.
