RAILA praises KINGI and tells UHURU to go for attachment in Kilifi on how to fight corruptionNews 05:52
Wednesday November 23, 2016 - ODM leader, Raila Odinga, has defended Kilifi Governor, Amason Kingi, over the loss of sh 51 million at the County through fraudulent manipulation of the Integrated Financial Management Information System, saying the Governor should not be victimized since he is the one who raised the issue and asked for a quick probe that has so far led to the recovery of sh 8 million.
“It is true that Kilifi County Government lost sh51 million but it is the Governor who reported the loss leading to swift action that led to recovery of sh8 million that was yet to be diverted to personal accounts,” Raila Odinga said.
Raila challenged President Uhuru Kenyatta to emulate Governor Kingi on how to tackle corruption at the national Government.
“This is what should be adopted by the National Government because in most cases whenever we raise issues of corruption of loss of public money, the target is usually the whistle-blower instead of cracking down on the thieves,” he said.
