Panic in State House! What happened to RUTO at JKIA is causing UHURU sleepless nightsCounty Politics, News 04:11
Sunday, November 20, 2016 - State House is reportedly concerned about the rising political star of Bomet Governor, Isaac Ruto, who jetted back into the country yesterday from South Africa, where he had sought specialized treatment following his beating by police officers in Silibwet, Bomet County.
Sources have revealed that the Presidency, especially Deputy President William Ruto, is worried that Isaac Ruto’s rising popularity in Rift Valley could have a significant bearing on President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election in 2017 as well as his 2022 Presidential bid.
Since Isaac Ruto was injured two weeks ago, residents of Bomet County have never settled until on Friday when he jetted back from South Africa.
The Bomet Governor was received at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) to a heroic and thunderous welcome ahead of his homecoming ceremony tomorrow.
He was welcomed by supporters adorned in blue T-shirts which is the official colour of his Chama Cha Mashinani Party.
He was also mobbed by a crowd, with two groups of women, one from his ethnic Kipsigis community and another from the Maasai community, breaking into song and dance in their native language to the utter shock of State House.
Ruto was accompanied by a number of politicians who have broken ranks with Jubilee.
